Built Right, Right Here
Our License Plate Relocation Kits are manufactured from 12ga steel that's zinc plated and powder coating for corrosion resistance. Composite parts, if applicable, are injection molded from a glass fiber reinforced nylon.
BuiltRight is an engineering company before all else and we're obsessed with great mechanical design. Each product has a story of ideas, innovation and iteration until it's just right.
One of the ways that we keep our License Plate Relocation Kits affordable is to use the same 'backing plate' on all of them. This plate offers a large number of slots and adjustment but it's important to understand that depending on your vehicle, that adjustment may be limited.
Many new vehicles feature ultrasonic proximity sensors which help with parking and obstacle avoidance. Each of our kits is designed and tested with this in mind. Installation may require some care to ensure that sensors aren't obstructed, but there will always be a location where there is no issue. If you have trouble finding it, just reach out and our experts can help!

Great Design & Easy Install
After reading other reviews, I was nervous about having issues with the parking sensors with the installation of this mount on my R1S, but after watching Builtright’s video tutorial and placing the mount exactly in the same spot as the photo guide on their website, I was able to get a perfect fit on the first try with no sensor problems! Installation took less than 10 minutes. The build quality is impressive; everything feels solid and the mount doesn’t budge whatsoever. I think having the front license plate off to one side gives the R1T/R1S a cool, rugged look. Highly recommend!

Works great
I really like this style of License plate mount, specifically with out its secured to the tow hook via screws instead of just clipping in or hooking onto the car. Due to the vehicle sensors, if can be hard to set up without the car detecting the plate, but I was able to get past that by using the setup recommended in the help link on this site.

Bend back license plate a little
I had the sensors pick it up once after driving it a few times. It then removes your ability to use adaptive cruise control and driver+. I bent the license plate on each side towards the bumper and haven't had issues since. The plate is still easily readable from the front and can't tell it's bent unless you get close.

Great option to avoid drilling holes in your Rivian
Build quality is great - and would highly recommend if you live in a state where front plates are mandatory - great option to avoid drilling holes in truck. Only 2 minor issues - it took about 3 tries to position plate so that the Rivian Front sensors wouldn’t activate…but there is a sweet spot. In addition the screws for the plate cover seem just a little short - after tightening the middle of the plate bulged out a bit - because the corner screws had to be tightened enough to hold plate in place. Overall 4 stars

Hey Nate, Yes, the Rivian sensors only allow for a very very small window of adjustment, they are by far the most sensitive across the kits we currently offer. We appreciate your feedback on the bracket and mounting, I'll pass that along to our Product Development Team for review and future revisions. -Matt Homes Customer Service Manager BuiltRightInd.com

Works well
It's a mostly well-designed mount but tricky to get aligned such that it doesn't affect parking sensors. I also wish it retained the nyloc nuts better and maybe even permitted you to install the clamp first and the plate afterward to make it easier to adjust correctly.

Rivian License Plate Mount
Looks good, easy to install, just have to keep the plate out of the way of the sensors.

Easy to install, looks great!
What more can I say? The installation video made the process super clear. I put my Rivian in drive to test sensor interference and had to make a couple adjustments. Still completed in about 15 minutes.

Easy installation with no interference with the sensors

Works as Design
Easy to install. Works as designed. Most of the time doesn’t interfere with sensors, but randomly one of my sensors will trigger when driving. I haven’t had time to try and adjust, but the issue has only happened twice in the first 2 weeks.

Hey Brian, If the sensors keep giving you issues, check out the article below. It shows the exact location needed to place the backer plate on the mounting bracket. https://support.builtrightind.com/hc/en-us/articles/14604380737684-Adjusting-Rivian-the-license-plate-mount-and-relocation-bracket -Matt Homes Customer Service Manager Builtrightind.com

Good quality bad design
Good luck installing this without randomly triggering the parking sensors. Adjusting is not trivial and after almost a dozen attempts just gave up. Look at other options, no returns just suggestions to keep trying.

Hey AB, We will gladly accept returns, the last thing we want if for you to have paid good month for something you are frustrated with and don't like. We have just suggested the below article, as it shows the exact location you need to avoid the sensors, the Rivian's are by far the most sensitive. https://support.builtrightind.com/hc/en-us/articles/14604380737684-Adjusting-Rivian-the-license-plate-mount-and-relocation-bracket We have these kits on 100's of R1T's without issue as long as the placement in the above link is mimicked. If you want to return the kit, we'll take it back, we just weren't sure if you were ready to throw in the towel yet or not. -Matt Homes Customer Service Manager BuiltRightInd.com
