The Design Process
BuiltRight is an engineering company before all else and we're obsessed with great mechanical design. Each product has a story of ideas, innovation and iteration until it's just right.
Each dash mount design begins with 3D scanning of the truck and dash components. We check those scans against OEM CAD models to be safe and then design a mount that fits perfectly, functions well and blends in with the dash of the vehicle. Our goal is to add function to your dash, not an eyesore.
We examine the rigidity of the dash and the amount of deflection each Dash Mount sees during normal and extreme use with a goal of reducing movement and above all else, ensuring that in the event of an accident, your device stays within reach.

My dashmount will regularly hold cell phones, but on towing trips, it'll be used to also hold up a rear-view display for my travel trailer. Without the support plate, I would probably be a little concerned about the weight of the display and the mounting arm I will use with it.

Its not necessarily needed, but with the track runs and jumps, I wanted to make sure my dash mount didn't budge and it doesn't! With a radio head unit, phone and camera mounted on the dash panel, it stays strong and hasn't failed me yet!
