The first product we ever engineered, the BuiltRight Industries Rear seat release was made to make your life easier. It’s a simple solution to accessing the area behind the rear seat backs of your truck. Designed with an OEM-inspired nylon pull strap, releasing the rear seat latch is effortless. The bracket firmly holds the latch pull in place and also guides the strap towards the top of the seat for easy reaching. It works hard so you don’t have to.

Prior to ordering, please feel free to follow the installation guide and lower the seat back to check on the amount of available space in your truck! 

2009 - 2014 F-150/Raptor Supercrew: These models can utilize two latch release kits (one each side of the 60/40 rear seat).

2015 - 2024 F-150/Raptor Supercab and Supercrew: These models store OEM tool kit behind the passenger side seat and use one latch release kit for the driver's side.

2017 - 2024 F-250 and F-350 Supercab and Supercrew: These models will utilize a single kit on the driver's side.

Install

Installation of our Rear Seat Release takes just a few minutes using a T30 torx bit and something like a closed end wrench to release the seat latch. Check out our video below!

Rear Seat Release - F250

This was simple and it's awesome. Took me about 10-15 minutes while watching the video explanations. Now that I know how to do it, I could do it in 3-5 minutes. I also placed a small piece of velcro to the pull cord to attach to the back of the seat so it remains hidden, but still quickly accessible. Now I have access to all the things I told Big Brother were "lost in a boating accident". I've already referred all my friends.

Should be put on every Ford pickup

This makes so much sense. Opens up a lot of great storage space. Easy to install and very easy to use. Anyone with a F series pickup should get this.

17’ F150 XLT Super Cab

Quality is good, but some design updates are necessary. The strap is an inch too short and the loop is too small. I have “man sized” hands and fumbling with the short strap leaves me disappointed. I will modify it myself to make it work “as advertised” so I’ve all but forgotten it’s there. Additionally, the need to move the stock sliding bolt each time detracts from the convenience factor. I won’t recommend it, but it’s almost a great idea.

Hey Art, We appreciate the feedback on the strap design, I'll pass that along. In regards to your comment about having to move the catch bar on the cab wall each time, is it falling too low or just not engaging the latch in the lower positions and only up high? If the later is the case, the issue lies in the rubber cushion in the middle of the latch as weird as that sounds. Excellent Product

Ford should have included this in all models. There's a lot more useful space behind the seat than I thought. Just follow the instructional installation video step by step and it's cake. Necessity is the mother of all invention and this is a great example.

Easy install and works great

I struggled to access the area behind the driver side rear seat of my 2022 F150. This release kit solved the problem and was very easy to install thanks to the great video instruction.

ADDED STORAGE!!!!

Love this latch. Makes having a little extra storage so nice. Can easily fit small things behind the seat and access them when needed
