Built Right, Right Here
Our Dash Mounts are manufactured from 12ga steel plate that's CNC cut and formed right here in the US. We don't cut corners to save money or compromise to save time. We build things right and we stand behind them.
BuiltRight is an engineering company before all else and we're obsessed with great mechanical design. Each product has a story of ideas, innovation and iteration until it's just right.
Each dash mount design begins with 3D scanning of the truck and dash components. We check those scans against OEM CAD models to be safe and then design a mount that fits perfectly, functions well and blends in with the dash of the vehicle. Our goal is to add function to your dash, not an eyesore.
We examine the rigidity of the dash and the amount of deflection each Dash Mount sees during normal and extreme use with a goal of reducing movement and above all else, ensuring that in the event of an accident, your device stays within reach.
Mike B. has been a great BuiltRight customer for years, so when he needed to securely mount his phone and GPS system in the Raptor, he knew who to call. In September of 2021, he rolled his truck and had this to say:
"I want to take this to thank Matt at BuiltRight Industries and RAM Mounts for their amazing products. My dash mount held my iPhone and iPad perfectly in place and was easy to locate in this roll over event. All the items attached to the bed racks were held in place. Securing items in the cab the best you can is a huge recommendation after this event, stuff goes flying everywhere. It happens quick and it’s never planned."

Sturdy Mount, Not Fun Install
The mount itself is sturdy and will securely hold anything you mount on it, limited only by the tray's strength. The install was tricky both due to the Ford retainer clips that hold the tray in place and the lack of access holes for the Built Right mount. Nothing can be done about the former, but regarding the latter, I'd suggest Built Right either align the top mount slots to allow access to the tray mount holes or add separate holes on top to allow access to the tray mount holes. Also, the "X-grip" Ram Mount that Built Right offers is not the best. Would recommend the Ram Quick Grip Universal phone mount.
It works great.
Good, instructions could of been better. Which way the bolts go. Threaded up or down. Threads down hit.
Hey Alisa, We appreciate that feedback and are aware of the bolts hitting the structural supports underneath. The fitment conflict isn't an issue across the board with all Rangers, just a small percentage. With that said, we should add a note on their video, looks like you are one of the lucky ones with the variation! -Matt Homes Customer Service Manager
Great install. Looks sharp!
This dash mount is perfect for installing my CB radio in my ranger. The hardware kit it came with was perfect and I used the YouTube video to install my mount. Very good experience all the way around!
Great Product - Very Heavy Steel to the point of overkill !!!! Love it!!
Let's start off this is a Great Product!! The Brief: Very easy install and looks great when finished. The Detail: Removing the tray was easy, but you still pucker up a little. First pry-up/loosen up the tray with a flat tool (I used a Plastic trim tool to pop up the edges of the try). Once the tray is loose you will be able to see it is held in place by 2 Blue clips. Take a long screw driver and pry up the tray with your screw driver between the tray and the plastic support piece the blue clips are connected to. A little twist and the clips pop up. Once the tray is loose, you need to decide which way you are mounting it. I mounted it toward the windshield. Mark and drill your holes in the tray. Trick/hint: Remove the blue clips from the bottom of the tray. With the tray drilled, loosely place the tray back in the dash and mark the spots where the rear screws will hit the plastic support bar. You will need to drill a hole in each location. 3/8" works. First photo shows the black marks to be drilled. Once those are drilled put the blue clips back on. Install the mount to the tray ands you are ready to go. The tray snaps right in around the edges and you then need to reach under the mount and press in the middle to set the blue clips. Excellent product and easy install!
