Every year the town we call home, New Milford, CT, has a spectacular 'Parade of Lights' throughout downtown, amassing hundreds of families and neighbors ready to conquer the cold and celebrate the holidays! This incredible event is put on by New Milford's Fire Department, Water Witch Hose Co. and a bunch of other awesome supporters - this year was the biggest holiday parade the town has seen yet.
Last week Matt and Max took a few hours to decorate our 2024 Ford Raptor and 2023 Chevy Colorado with Twinkly Lights (the most intelligent programmable lights on the market) in preparation for this year's parade. Previously we've only wrapped one of our shop trucks in lights and all piled in - this year we took it up a notch by sponsoring the event, covering two trucks and bringing family along for the ride!
We've tried using all sorts of fastening methods when it comes to string lights on trucks... nets, clips, zip ties... It turns out, no residue duct tape is the simplest, least frustrating way to put on (and take off) string lights. With all of our lights attached and doors + tailgates still operational, we staged the trucks how they'd be lined up in the parade and used Twinkly's app with the Raptor's WiFi network to map out some favorite patterns. These lights are really intelligent and well-worth the price depending on your application!
It's truly a heartwarming opportunity to be involved in an event like this, decorating the trucks and spreading local holiday cheer is always a great time. We do have a strong feeling that next year BuiltRight will be bringing some interesting developments and innovation to the parade... we can't wait!
