2025 Kid's Raptor Build
Matt gives us a rundown on what went into the build and development of the BuiltRight Pro Kit on this bad little machine.

Scaled down, Built Right
Each panel is laser cut from 0.125" 5052-H32 aluminum and CNC bent to exacting tolerances typically reserved for actual trucks. Components are then hand-inspected and fixture-assembled using stainless hardware, because toddlers deserve better than glue and hope. Powder coated in a durable textured black finish, these panels are ready to withstand driveway dust and the occasional tantrum-driven impact test.

The Design Process
At BuiltRight, we’re an engineering company first — and when it comes to mechanical design, our standards don’t shrink with scale. Even for this pint-sized platform, the development process begins with high-resolution 3D scans of the Huffy Kids Ford truck bed and cab interior, ensuring dimensional accuracy within fractions of a millimeter (well beyond what the original manufacturer probably intended). From there, CAD modeling and simulated fitment are conducted using best practices typically reserved for OEM partnerships — which we absolutely did not have for this toy.
Before these awful plastic tires hit the pavement, we run simulations via finite element analysis (FEA) to confirm that each aluminum component can withstand the unique loads imposed by toddler-grade abuse - including snack spills, stomps, and repeated door slams. Field testing is then carried out under the harshest conditions imaginable: gravel driveways, uneven sidewalks, and mulch piles behind preschool drop-off. Because performance doesn't care how big your truck is — and neither do we.
