If so, you're missing some critical hardware and tie-down points. These kits offer an alternative to the standard Ford boxlink plates, which, let's face it, aren't very useful. Each of these heavy-duty brackets has two large tie-down loops as well as four (4) threaded inserts. They're the perfect way to add functionality to your bed, whether it's securing a load or using them as a mounting point for clamps or custom accessories of your own.

Boxlink replacements

My truck did not come with the Boxlinks from the factory. I used the Builtright replacement screw/hardware kit to tap the screw holes and installed these mounting plates. They have been used many times over for securing loads and I find them to be more useful by having multiple attachment points compared to the OEM version.

Boxlink Mounting Plate

These things are solid. Installation instructions are easy to follow. Provide more functionality to the bed with additional anchor points for straps. I like the ability to add attachments to them.

Very useful

These things are a huge improvement over the boxlink. Multiple spots to easily attach ratchet straps. Easy to install. Only downside was the alignment of the holes is slightly different than the boxlink, so I have a slight gap between the spray in bed liner and the plate. Doesn’t offset the huge increase in functionality though.

This was another great addition to myf150 from BRI! Installation was a breeze with the thread cutting oil and proper tools! These are better than the original equipment!,

Did it my way

Excellent. However, I preferred to start the threads with a tap rather than just the screws. I measured the screws and the threads and uses a 6mm x 1mm tap to start the holes. I tapped only 5 threads deep and then used the screws to finish the threads. I do not know why Ford does not tap these threads. With a brand new truck I wanted the threads to be perfect. The plates are installed and I expect that they will be there for the life of the truck.

Hey James, These are thread forming screws just like the OEM ones, don't tap them as tapping them removes metal from the stampeded section of the bed. The material thickness won't support tapping. We've never seen an issue with thread forming screws as long as they are full seated and not over torqued. -Matt Homes Customer Service Manager Builtrightind.com

Awesome products!

I think the products are great, I kinda wish the screw holes had grommets and/or to help center the screws during the install. That would satisfy my OCD. Overall though, I’m highly satisfied with all of their products.
