When we originally started making MOLLE panels, everything was vehicle-specific. Then there were the calls, emails, and Facebook messages: folks would ask us if we could make a panel for their 1987 Jeep Grand Cherokee or whatever boat project they had. We realized a “one-size-fits-all” solution could be a useful thing to anyone with a creative installation in mind. And our universal Tech Plates were born. We had five sizes with a signature block-and-slot design and a simple spacer-based hardware system, but as more and more folks asked about wacky installations, it was time to offer more.

We’ve been experimenting with new shapes—square panels, narrow strips, and larger options—to fill those spaces you might have in a cabinet or along a truck bed rail. It’s been a challenge to try out different materials like steel and aluminum, and whether to offer them raw, painted, or powder-coated. We’re also looking at panel edges to see if there’s a better way to stack a series of plates side-by-side without a gap. And don’t even get me started about the hardware—some interesting possibilities there, but those are a secret for now.

All of which brings us to a crossroads, and we'd love to hear from you. Maybe you have a specific project in mind, whether it's for a classic car, a boat, or a quirky corner in your garage. If you leave your suggestions—such as desired dimensions, shapes, or materials—in the comments, we'll choose a few to custom-make and ship out so you can see how you utilize them. It's always wonderful to see how people take a universal system and make it theirs.

If you have questions or suggestions, comment below, email us, or give us a call. We can't wait to hear from you and see what direction this project goes next.
