The first product we ever engineered, the Builtright Industries Rear seat release was made to make your life easier. It’s a simple solution to accessing the area behind the rear seat backs of your truck. Designed with an OEM-inspired nylon pull strap, releasing the rear seat latch is effortless. The bracket firmly holds the latch pull in place and also guides the strap towards the top of the seat for easy reaching. It works hard so you don’t have to.

  • 2009 - 2024 F-150 and Raptor (see ‘engineering’ tab)
  • 2017 - 2024 F-250, F-350 (see ‘engineering’ tab)
  • Laser cut and CNC formed for perfect fit
  • Bracket black zinc coated for corrosion resistance
  • NEW Glass fiber reinforced composite pull tab
  • Nylon strap hand sewn to latch pull

Engineering

2009 - 2014 F-150/Raptor Supercrew: These models can utilize two latch release kits (one each side of the 60/40 rear seat).

2015 - 2024 F-150/Raptor Supercab and Supercrew: These models store OEM tool kit behind the passenger side seat and use one latch release kit for the driver's side.

2017-2024 F-250 and F-350 Supercab and Supercrew: These models will utilize a single kit on the driver's side.

Install

Installation of our Rear Seat Release takes just a few minutes using a T30 torx bit and something like a closed end wrench to release the seat latch. Check out our video below!

Sweet Seat Release.

This was a great modification to the rear seat. I ordered one for me and one for my wife’s truck and it just makes you wonder why this isn’t standard from the OEM to have the seat move forward to access storage behind the seat. Im very happy with the simple installation and operation of the release.

Some model trucks have minimal space gain

Space gained on my model truck is not even close to expected. In my Ford Lariat, and likely other brands and models, there are sound components behind the back seat so there is minimal space gained. Maybe I could store a pizza pan back there. ‍♂️

Rear seat release kit

Bought the rear seat release kit. Only complaint is the the strap isn't long enough. Wants to keep falling behind the seat. Easy to install. Only took a couple of minutes.

Ideal function

This seat release went in nice and easy, especially when paired with the install video. Releasing the pin to start is the only part that takes some care, which is also covered in the video. Once installed, the release strap provides easy access. We have already made use of the newly accessible space and are pleased with this purchase

Impossible - Now we know why Ford didn't make this latch for using.

Impossible to get that re-latched. Followed all instructions on relatching and this is a nightmare. Wish I never purchased this, I have brand new truck with backseat flapping... Skip this ****** device the amount of space isn't worth the relatching issues.

Overall install was easy I just don’t like how hard I need to slam the seat back to latch it otherwise I would’ve gave a 5 star rating
