Jeep Gladiator (2020)
Engineering & Manufacturing
The Gladiator utility rail kit turned out great! Part of the challenge was that standard strut channel wasn't the right depth, nor did the slots/holes line up well or at all. I ended up having to custom order 2000ft of plain steel extrusion and then cut it to length and cut the correct bolt pattern, but the finished product is fantastic. We finished each piece with a durable black texture powdercoat inside and out and have custom injection-molded plastic caps for each end of each rail.
Here were the goals:
– Fit using only the factory-provided mounting features in the bed
– Match the depth of the Mopar kit, so that most/all accessories would fit both systems
– Allow accessories to be easily attached without sliding a t-slot nut in from one end
Functionally, the strut channel characteristics are fantastic. Strut channel hardware can be used for easy installation and configuration of attachments and accessories.
Worked like a charm. Solid materials.
Excellent powder coating and easy install
The install couldn’t have been easier. The only thing I’d recommend is to run a tap through all the holes to true up the holes by removing paint, or in my case, the sprayed in liner. The only difficult part was getting the nut behind the bed to stay in the right spot when putting on the rear panels. Just took a few tries and some tape. :). The quality of the parts are top notch. Definitely recommend Matt’s stuff.
Like mentioned before, I have the Mopar spray in bed liner and could not install the bed rails without a tap. Made the process take twice as long as it wasn't mentioned on the product description page.
So far so good. The rails are good quality and installed no issues. Now just need to find some kind of tie down attachments to use with them
